Spy Shots: New Mercedes-Benz A25 AMG Could get More than 320-Horsepower

The people at AMG are hard at work with the development of the most potent model of the newly revealed Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback. Rumored to be named either the A 25 AMG or A 45 AMG, the hot hatch could make its world premiere as early as this fall at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Power will come from a heavily modified version of the A 250's 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, which is rated at 208hp (211PS). According to sources, in the AMG model, the four-cylinder unit is believed to deliver anywhere from 320hp to as much as 350-horsepower. In order for the top A-Class model to put all those horses on the road in a civilized manner, it will be fitted with a new all-wheel drive system and a revised chassis with bespoke suspension, steering and braking systems as well as wider performance tires.

New Mercedes-Benz Citan Van is a Renault Kangoo in Disguise

Mercedes-Benz has lifted the curtains off its new Renault Kangoo -based Citan delivery van several months ahead of its first public outing at the 2012 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover this September. The Citan is the first project to come out of the partnership between Mercedes-Benz's parent company Daimler and the Renault-Nissan Alliance, which was formed in 2010. Ford Focus Electric to Become the First EV to Pace a NASCAR Race

In a new marketing effort to promote its pure-electric Focus, Ford says it will make history this month, as the battery-powered version of its compact hatchback will become the first all-electric pace car to lead the pack at a NASCAR race. The new Focus Electric, which rolled off the production line in December at the company's Michigan Assembly Plant, will perform all pace care duties for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Richmond International Raceway on April 28. German car wrapping specialist Cam Shaft has made its own Clio RS R3 track racer (of sorts) out of the sportiest version of the French hatch. The company started out by stripping the Clio RS' interior down to bare studs and then adding an assortment of race-specification goods ranging from a full roll-cage and a pair of Sparco bucket seats to the LCD instrument panel and removable Sparco steering wheel. Dacia to Accept Pre-Orders for Duster with ?100 deposit as it Prepares for UK Launch

The Renault Group's Dacia brand continues its pre-launch activities in Britain with the announcement of pre-ordering for the Duster compact SUV. The company said that as soon as it announces pricing and specifications for the Duster SUV on June 28, it will begin accepting pre-orders online with a?100 deposit. The Romanian budget brand said the Duster's range will start from less than?10, 000 ( 12, 150 or US$16, 000) for the front-wheel drive models, while 4x4 versions available from less than?12, 500 ( 15, 150 or US$19, 900).
