Toyota Reclaims Sales Crown from General Motors in the First Quarter of 2012

In 2011, some two years after it went into bankruptcy, General Motors managed to recoup the top spot as the world's largest automaker, no thanks to Toyota's production problems that stemmed from the tsunami and other natural disasters that hit Asia last year. Now, with Toyota having solved most of its problems, the Japanese carmaker is on pace to reclaim its sales crown. According to a report from Bloomberg, the Toyota Group, which includes the Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Hino and Daihatsu brands, saw its global sales rise 18 percent to 2.49 million units in the first quarter of 2012. Terrifying Crash in South Korea Splits Hyundai Sonata in Two

A fatal accident that occurred in South Korea was captured on film by a car's onboard camera. From what we can tell, the driver of an older generation Hyundai Sonata either crashed or lost control of the vehicle and passed onto the opposite side of the freeway where he collided first with a Kia Sportage crossover and then into a minivan at high speed. The collision was so severe that the Hyundai broke in two. According to a translation provided by YouTube users, the front passenger of the Sonata died immediately while the driver and the two rear passengers made it out alive but injured. General Motors to Reassess Facebook Advertising, Execs Say Ads Had Little Impact

In a move that may very well have a negative effect Facebook's $105 billion share sale on Friday, General Motors confirmed via its spokesperson that it is reassessing its advertising presence on the world's largest social network. GM released a statement on the matter after the Wall Street Journal reported today that the Detroit carmaker will stop advertising on Facebook because its top brass determined that their paid ads on the website had little impact on consumers. "We regularly review our overall media spend and make adjustments as needed, " GM spokesman Tom Henderson told the USA Today. "This happens as a regular course of business and it's not unusual for us to move our spending around various media outlets -- especially with the growth of multiple social and digital media outlets.

Fatal Accident with Ferrari 599 GTO Leaves Three Dead in Singapore, Sparks Anti-Foreign Sentiment

A horrific accident that took place in Singapore this past Saturday leaving three people dead and two seriously injured has fueled an outrage in the country. The crash was captured on film by a vehicle that was not involved in the incident. The video footage shows a blue Hyundai Sonata taxicab pulling ahead a couple of seconds after the green light goes on. As the taxi reaches the middle of the crossing, we see a speeding red car, later recognized as a rare Sg$1.8 million (US$1.43 million) Ferrari 599 GTO, smashing into the blue sedan.
